Drivers Day

Consequently, Drivers’ Day Celebration and Appreciation on the 17^th of September every year was an initiative started in 2015, under the guidance of our Managing Director, Mr. Dileep Naik, and our Fleet Team. Drivers day is a weeklong celebration at RTPL, and not just a day, since we make it a point to involve all the drivers in the celebrations, and ensure that each driver is present on any one day of the celebration, to partake of the honour, appreciation, rewards in cash and kind, which are given away during the celebration week. Free Eye check-up camps, distribution of free vision glasses,  training on Health and Safety aspects, coupled with interactive courses, gifts and prizes for the drivers, donating  books and stationery for their children, are some of the highlights of the Driver Day celebrations. Our business associates such as Eicher, Ashok Leyland, Mahindra Trucks, Indian Oil Corporation, United India Insurance Co and others, partnered with us in this initiative, through a strong support.

Chaalak se Maalak

This concept, initially initiated by Mahindra & Mahindra’s Transport Excellence Awards, inspired us to replicate the concept in our own way. This one of a kind initiative commenced in 2015, and has helped us promote and encourage our drivers on a career growth path of their own, which otherwise, remains only a dream for most drivers. In this initiative, ownership of vehicles from our fleet that have served 4 to 5 years and are loan free, are transferred to deserving and performing  drivers at zero interest, with easy pay back instalments.  This concept not only makes a driver, the proud and instant owner of a vehicle, but also ensures that both the vehicle and the driver (now the owner) remain with the company. This serves a dual purpose of driver retention, and enhanced dedication on the part of the owner driver. 

Periodic Training

We believe that Cargo, Drivers & Trucks need to be given utmost priority and care, as these are the core aspects of the business. Drivers are the face of the company, carrying critical and lifesaving drugs that require utmost care during transit. Therefore, we ensure that our drivers undergo trainings on a regular basis, on cargo handling, health & safety measures, for themselves as well as the trucks. Continual training/refresher courses help mend the mind-set of the drivers, thereby enhancing their productivity and performance. Recruited drivers go through a detailed induction and orientation program. Along with safety, we also lay strong emphasize on continuously upgrading the drivers with new technology and skill development, to increase productivity.
